CALENDAR

Here are some important upcoming dates:

JUNE

4 PLC and Troop Committee Meeting via Zoom

11 Troop Meeting via Zoom

18 Troop Meeting via Zoom

25 Troop Meeting via Zoom

We hope all of you continue to be safe and well.  All in-person activities at Catonsville Presbyterian Church remain suspended.  Therefore, all Troop 306 meetings and activities in June will continue to be conducted via Zoom until further notice.  Please see the schedule listed above.  An email invitation will be sent out in advance of the meetings and any activities.

If there are any changes to the schedule, we will update you as soon as possible.  The Troop plans to meet throughout the summer, but possibly not every week.  A more definite schedule will be made at PLC on this Thursday, June 4.

SUMMER CAMP

On May 21, we received notification that Scouts BSA resident programs at Heritage Reservation are suspended for the 2020 summer camp season.  If your son was registered to attend summer camp, you probably received an email from Laurel Highlands Council, too.  Although it is unfortunate that the Scouts will not be able to enjoy summer camp at Heritage, we do believe cancellation was the right choice.  An email will be sent out later today or tomorrow that discusses refunds and alternative plans for the summer.

FOOD COLLECTION PROGRAM @ CPC

Catonsville Presbyterian Church currently has an ongoing collection program for non-perishable food items.  There are large green trashcans lined with plastic bags on the left side of the garage – facing the patio of the Church House - for donations.  All food donations are being delivered to Grace AME Church and Catonsville Emergency Assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  CEA is working on providing bag lunches to the homeless 2 times/week.  Grace AME is working with the MD Food Bank and our community donations to provide food boxes to nearly 200 people/families each week.  If you are able/willing to participate in the worthy cause, please consider doing so.  All non-perishable items are welcomed.  Please remember to put the lids on the cans securely after use.  You also may send monetary donations to the CPC.

CAMP CARDS UPDATE

The Camp Card sale is extended until the end of June.  The Baltimore Area Council also launched its Camp Card Frontline Heroes Campaign.  The campaign's purpose is to deliver 100,000 Camp Cards to local Frontline Heroes after the quarantine period ends to thank them for helping to keep us safe.  We are excited about this campaign!

For more information or to place an order, please click on the following link:  www.baltimorebsa.org/campcardorder.

Please share this information with your friends and family.  So that proper credit is received, don't forget to include or remind your contacts of our unit (Troop 306) and your Scout's last name when placing an order.

Lastly, if you previously received Camp Cards from Kristal, we need to know how many of those cards are still in your possession.  Please email Kristal at braysmum@gmail.com with this information as soon as possible.

Many thanks to Kristal for serving as this year's Camp Card coordinator!

POPCORN COORDINATOR NEEDED!

The Troop has started receiving information regarding this year's popcorn sale, which will occur in the fall.  A coordinator is needed for this activity.  The responsibility is not burdensome or overwhelming -- in fact, the sale pretty much runs itself.  If you are interested in helping with this task, please let Cynthia know.

Many thanks to all of the parents have volunteered for a role or responsibility within the troop.
