After July 4th, the Troop will be taking a break for the summer. There will be no regular Troop meetings during the month of July. However, there still may be Sea Base activities/workouts -- those attending Sea Base should rely on information received from the adult crew leaders.

The Troop Committee/Parent meeting typically resumes on the first Thursday in August, but we may adjust the date since 12 of our Scouts and several adult leaders will be departing for Sea Base the next day. We also will hold our annual pool party in August. More info will be provided once the dates are determined. As noted above, the date/time for PLC is forthcoming, too.

Please also reserve the following mandatory service/fundraiser dates on your calendar:

Sunday, September 10, 2023: Catonsville Arts and Crafts Festival, 7 am - 7 pm (We assist with setup and breakdown, and empty/monitor the trash cans throughout the day. Families/Scouts will be needed for 4-hour shifts.)

Sunday, October 22, 2023: Maryland Renaissance Festival, 9 am - 7 pm (We will need a total of 21 volunteers -- at least 7 adults and youth ages 14 & up -- to work at the soda concession stands. This is a full day commitment.)

More info will be provided on each of these events as we get closer to the dates.

SUMMER CAMP IS DONE!!!

We hope that everyone had an awesome week at summer camp! We will formally celebrate all of the boys' accomplishments from summer camp during our Fall Court of Honor in September. We will be sharing pictures from the week very soon!

FLAGS FOR JULY 4TH

It is an annual tradition of Troop 306 to place flags on Frederick Road on Independence Day (July 4th). If available, we ask that Scouts meet on Tuesday, July 4, at 8 am to put the flags out -- this should take no more than 30 minutes each time. The meeting place is the parking lot across the street from Catonsville Post Office. The flags will be collected immediately after the parade (around 4:30 pm or so), and the meeting location is the same. Scouts should wear their Activity Uniforms (Class Bs).

Pickup trucks/minivans are welcomed to transport flags down the road.

Please note that flag placement is a responsibility shared with other local Troops. We have no other dates scheduled for this year.

SEA BASE HIGH ADVENTURE 2023

Our Sea Base High Adventure Crews are counting down to their departure, which is about 1 month away!!! Alexis Willis sent a detailed email with several updates and housekeeping items to all Sea Base families on May 10. Please be sure to thoroughly review the email along with any information received at the mandatory meeting on June 22.

It is critical that each Scout attending Sea Base continue to focus on upper body strength, conditioning, and endurance! Every crew member should be working out regularly and not just at the shakedown or swimming workouts. Please utilize the exercise tracking mechanisms and other information provided at recent shakedowns.

If you have questions about anything related to Sea Base, please contact Alexis, Eric, Kristal, Liz, Phil, or Sparky.

HAPPY 111TH ANNIVERSARY!!!

Last month we celebrated 111 years as a Troop!!! We have so many reasons to be thankful and proud!

We are the oldest Troop in Maryland, if not one of the oldest Troops in the U.S. This accomplishment is greatly due to the consistent support from CPC, the community, and parental involvement. Our Troop is special in so many ways and has positively impacted many families and our community for more than a century. As we take a break during this month, we encourage you to reflect upon the honor and privilege it is to be associated with Troop 306!!!

SCOUTING IS IN HIGH GEAR!!!!! LET'S HAVE A GREAT SCOUT YEAR!!!!
