SCOUT SUNDAY

Today is the special Scout Sunday service at Catonsville Presbyterian Church!  Scout Sunday is a day set aside by BSA to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting, and is traditionally observed by faith-based chartered organizations.  This year, the service will be live-streamed and begins at 10:30 am.  The service can be viewed via Zoom, and through CPC's website, You Tube channel, and Facebook page.  Attending this service virtually is a great way to show appreciation to CPC for all they've done for Troop 306 over the past 109 years!

Although the service can viewed via several methods, we're asking the Scouts watch the service via Zoom with their cameras on and wear their Class A uniform (or at least the top half).  By doing this, their presence will be known as if they were in person.

The Zoom link information is below.  Please try to join the service by 10:25 am.

PACK 306 FUNDRAISER (FEBRUARY 16TH)

Pack 306 is having a fundraiser at Peace-A-Pizza on Wednesday, February 16th.  Peace-A-Pizza has always willingly permitted various Scout-related fundraisers at their place of business.  So, please be sure to pick up some pizza on February 16 -- you won't have to worry about dinner, and will be supporting Pack 306 and Peace-A-Pizza at the same time!  Don't forgot to mention Pack 306 so that they receive credit.  This fundraiser is for carryout only.

VIRTUAL HIGH ADVENTURE PRESENTATION ON 2/17

On Thursday, February 17, the Troop is having a high adventure presentation in lieu of the regular Scout meeting.  The presentation/meeting will be virtual and will take place from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  The presentation is for both the Scouts and their parents, and we're hoping that the boys will be able to vote at the end of the meeting on the various options presented.

We recommend that Scouts and parents join the meeting from separate devices, if possible.  The reason is because at some point after the presentation the boys will be placed into a breakout room, while the parents will remain in the general meeting for a discussion.

Please plan to attend this important meeting.  A Zoom link will be sent out on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

DIAPER DRIVE

Francis Unkel, a Star Scout in Troop 306, is currently working on earning his Family Life merit badge.  Francis is organizing and collecting diapers and diaper wipes for families in need for the St. Gabriel Aid Food Pantry.  Please consider purchasing and donating diapers and wipes or giving a monetary donation to help purchase diapers for families in need.

Diaper donations may be left on the Front Porch of the Church House at Catonsville Presbyterian Church at 1400 Frederick Rd. Catonsville MD 21228.  Donations will be collected all through the month of February 2022.

If you would like to support Francis’s diaper drive with a monetary donation, please make your check out to:  St. Gabriel Catholic Church, with Diaper Drive/Pantry on the memo line.  Checks can be mailed to 6950 Dogwood Rd. Windsor Mill MD 21244.

WE NEED YOU!

In June of this year, Troop 306 will reach it 110th anniversary, which is totally awesome!  This accomplishment is greatly due to the support from CPC, the community, and in particular parental involvement, and all of which are necessary for the Troop to continue to thrive.  We encourage each family to attend the Troop Committee meeting held on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 pm -- this is a great way to learn about upcoming plans, see how the Troop is managed, and obtain more information about areas of need.  The meetings are currently being held via Zoom.

As mentioned in the calendar, we have a camping trip at the this month, and general parent participation is always needed at these events.  If you're interested in attending the trip, please let Jeff and Hope know.
